It's All About the Call

"What exactly is your calling? What is the benefit of joining Chaplains for Women International?

Chaplains minister to many people who do not have a regular pastor or church they attend. Our training equips you with life-changing tools so you can effectively serve God and see lives change on a continual basis."

Availability is of the utmost importance to have a strong Chaplaincy impact.

A Chaplain is an ordinary person doing extraordinary work using practical and compassionate ways to touch those around them who reach out for help. Whether people are suffering from grief and loss, the suicide of a loved one, marriage and divorce recovery, a financial crisis, hospital care, whether it is in the marketplace, hospitals, jails or prisons, the Chaplain is one who comes alongside to share with and help others in distress, whether the hurting one is a man, a woman, young or old the Chaplain is a caregiver or a spiritual person who cares. So the Chaplain can be described as a caregiver whose primary job is to serve the emotional, physical, spiritual and personal needs of people in the community around them.

Many Outreach Voluntary Chaplains have a specific mission field in which they will serve. Relationships will be built within the community over a period of time, and many opportunities will arise out of those relationships. Really, it is sometimes as simple as making oneself available, one encounter at a time.

Be ready always to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope within you with meekness and fear.

Matthew 9:35-38 records teaching of Jesus speaking to the need for more workers in the harvest field. Jesus felt pity or compassion for the crowds who came, as they had many needs and none to give them help. Jesus said the harvest is great, but the laborers are few, so we are to pray to the Lord of the harvest that He will send laborers into the field, and that is what a Chaplain does, she has compassion on the people and helps to bring solutions to their problems in their everyday lives.

Ephesians 4:11-13 The Apostle Paul provides practical instruction regarding the responsibility of equipping the people for the work of serving in the ministry.

John 11:35, shares about the compassion of Christ…God was glorified through signs and wonders…
